Viktor Frankl – At the Intersection of Psychology and Spirituality

Date:
Time:

Viktor Frankl (1905-1997) was a psychiatrist and Nazi concentration camp survivor, and the author of a bestseller entitled, Man’s Search for Meaning. The book, which has had several editions and been translated into many languages, would have ramifications both for philosophy and psychology. Frankl was the first to systematically bring the spiritual dimension into psychology as a social-science discipline – out of which emerged a new school of teachers and therapists specializing in what Frankl defined as meaning-centered living. This talk will focus on Frankl’s concept of “Dimensional Ontology”, which views the human being as a composite of what he called the Soma (body), Psyche (Mind) and Noos (Spirit). Dr. Winters will offer some practical ways to employ dimensional ontology in facing the challenges of everyday life.
